Meet Joanne
Joanne is the founder and licensed esthetician behind Safety Harbor Wax Studio.
Originally from New York City, she began her beauty career in 1986 and has spent nearly four decades helping clients feel comfortable, confident, and genuinely cared for. Her approach combines technical precision with thoughtful care, creating a waxing experience that feels as relaxing as it is effective.
Today, Joanne specializes in refined face and body waxing, with an emphasis on Brazilian waxing and her Signature Full Face Wax. Every treatment is thoughtfully customized and enhanced with soothing post-wax care designed to calm the skin, reduce irritation, and leave clients feeling refreshed. She has also developed her own line of post-wax skincare products to help maintain smooth, healthy skin between appointments.
She believes exceptional waxing is about more than hair removal—it’s about creating an experience where every client feels relaxed, respected, and completely at ease from the moment they arrive until the moment they leave.
When She’s Not Waxing
Joanne lives in Clearwater, Florida, with her husband, Tim. Together they share their home with three dogs—Coco, Benny, and Ellie—and three cats—Mac, Charlie, and Jack. They are proud parents of two grown children pursuing careers in medicine and design.
Outside the studio, Joanne enjoys boutique shopping, jewelry design, discovering great restaurants, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Before specializing in waxing, Joanne worked as an award-winning makeup artist and face and body painter. She is also a Reiki Master and formerly worked as a professional show dog groomer.
My goal isn’t simply to remove hair. It’s to create a calm, comfortable experience that leaves every client feeling confident in their skin.
